New year, one of my favorite beaches. Praia de São Julião.
Going home
Rain falls in Portugal, trickles through the soil and exits at the beach and drools to ocean.
Surf or dog? Tough choice.
Seagull’s eye view of praia de São Sebastião. Stormy seas for late June.
Empa and the reef.
That’s praia da Empa.
Surfers putting out to sea on a grey day.
The left side of Matadouro beach. Or the right side of São Sebastião beach, I dunno.
At high tide at São Sebastião beach, the sand part essentially disappears. Beach goers can get surprised when after low tide, that first wave sweeps up the beach and soaks all the towels and people’s back side as well.
Praia da Empa and a few surfers on your left.
The big picture. Praia do Matadouro and Vila Ana Margarida.
Blue hour at the beach. At low tide you can almost walk to the far rocks.
There’s still a few people at day’s end and one head sticking out on top of the cliff.
Most people are coming out of the ocean, while the stream of water on the lower right is still going into the ocean.
Beach evening Matadouro.
